Sleek SA6 - Page 2

Interesting, I've got a boatload of tip variations here so I'm sure I'll be busy trying various configurations.

Have you tried laying down with them on? How do you typically wear them?

Laying down with them is no problem. At least with my ears they don't stick out. They are smaller than the pictures may make you think.
I usually dont wear the cord over the ear (glasses). Microphonics are no issue.

Very interesting. What IEM do you think compare well with SA6?

Glad to see you are enjoying em Kees. Believe me there is more to come. The extended treble tips are on the way, let me know what you think.

Are these new standard tubes or something special? Are they something that it is included in the package I'll be getting (hopefully tomorrow)?

Don't worry Elnero I will make sure you get a test pair too. These add more to the highs but are not for most people. So they will not be included in the standard package. We may have them as an audiophile selection.

Got my SA6's last night, I don't want to say too much at this point but initial impressions are quite positive.

Glad the reviews are strong, we will be getting in our first SA6 shipment next week and I can't wait to try them out.

Update:
The new ports arrived.
New bass+ ports (I'll call them bass++, although they don't add more bass than bass+ or even bass= ports) and new ultra super extra high+ ports (high++ from now on).
Plugged them in immediately.
Jackpot.
For me at least, Jason hit bullseye now.
The midrange has come alive. Shirley Horn lives and a piano is a musical instrument again. Cymbals are now sparkling instead of sizzling.
I experimented a bit more with different combinations:
New high++ with new bass++: super. They sound warm now instead of dark.
Old high+ with new bass++: dead mids
New high++ with old bass+: dead mids
Rather exaggerated to make my point of what differences I perceive.

Conclusion: both the new bass port and the high port improve the midrange considerably (well, to my ears at least...)
It makes them (especially the midrange) come alive. Bass is strong and articulate, but not overwhelming, it does not interfere with the midrange now.
Midrange gained detail and air with the new treble port.
Two thumbs up!
Thanks very much to Jason for his extra time, patience and efforts.
People will see a BIG grin on my face now!

I thought there was a thread going on about the SA6. I'm glad it got bumped! I ordered mine a couple of days ago so I'm in the hands of the USPS now. Florida to New York could mean today but I'm trying not to be too impatient.

Will definitely post impressions.
