A New Tube Aplifier From Serbia- Trafomatic - Page 3

Actually....

This was the impression that I got from reading a thread that you have already replied to
http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f5/rs-...tealth-270460/
I have not seen much of anything else to support this however.
Can anyone here enlighten us on sonic distinctions (if any) between these amps?

Not sure if this interest anyone, The Trafomatic Head one's price will be adjusted to the Euro price of $1250 starting 09/24 (audiogon). Its no surprise that prices have to be equal across the pond, and thanks to our bankers+govt the USD is lower than Amy Winehouse's bra.

Not sure if the new price is justified sonically, comparing to other SET amp like woo or singlepower. But in my little calculating head, w/ the look and the transformers, Alps knot, Rubycons and functionalities, it should worth the current price. Then again we have not had a long detail authoritative review out yet (at least by google).

Mine is shipping in Oct. And I also got a ASL MG Head OTL from another headfier (for office), then we can get some real world testing going.

Puh, I'm lucky that I got it at 666,- Euro.

This is probably all because of the VAT European distributors have to pay. Trafomatic themself sell it at 600 Euro without VAT and shipping.

I wonder if anyone will ever bother giving a review of one of these amps.

If everything will be like it must be, I may get a chance to hear one. When? Well, thats difficult to say, KEES still waiting for his, something strange going on with shipping procedure.

From Boris's email, he said trafomatic has to wait for some part materials (the wood maybe, and that explains the availability of the black version). Thus they're shipping in mid Oct.

KEES told me that his is still at the customs.

Some Slovenian customs officer is audiophile and decided to "borrow" your amp for a while!? Or is it Slovenian love for parcel's from Serbia . Jokes aside , I would be mad as a March hare in the similar situation.

Jeez, that sucks. Hope you get it soon, cuz I'm looking forward to those comparisons! =D

Kees, How is it that the package is stopped in Slovenia before it got to Holland? Was it coming by truck and everything gets stopped at the EU entry point?

I recently bought a new US-made CD player in Zagreb on a business-vacation trip. Price in the US, $3,000, ($4480 if I imported it). Price from a dealer in DK, $6,000. Price in Croatia: $2850 (probably the same in the US with a dealer discount). No one asked any questions at the Slovenian or Danish borders when we drove through, so that was my cost.

Yes, that is very much the story I'm told.
I'm negotiating at this moment to get things going again.
Never a dull moment in this hobby.

WOW! Just got an email from Boris, he just got back from Serbia (you dun hear this from people everyday...), and has my amp, and will be shipping it very soon.

Kees, any news on the trafomatic - is it still in Slovenia?

Can I ask you how much you paid for the amp from the factory? I got a price qoute from the danish distributor and it was almost 1000 euros - I'm thinking that is a bit much.
