Norah Jones - Come Away With Me - Page 2

I like the album quite well on any headphone... I just don't blast it because the piano and her "s" noises can get a little sibilant.

It's funny people always call the CD3000's shouty, tinny and sibilant, yet out of the right gear its treble range is one of my best controlled while most highly extended.

And of course in a classic SNAFU, her later albums were recorded quite well, but with purely forgettable music, country music at that!.

Here's hoping she has a stellar fourth album to get her back on track (No, I'm not counting her "willies" work).

I've got the Classic Records 200 gram version and it's uniformly excellent. There's no a pit of harshness when I listen through my Project RM10/Sumiko Blackbird/Woo WA6/AKG K701 rig.

Actually that's not country. Lots of pop artists are now using steel guitar and other elements traditionally reserved for country in their albums.

"feels like home" is an exceptional album.

I have to agree with Dave here.

On my rig the vinyl sounds excellent as well. My suggestion is to buy the vinyl and make a virgin vinyl rip. It will put the SACD and CD to shame.

I noticed the distortion as well. Not as bad as Kasey Chambers thank goodness!

I'm bumping this thread from 2008...

Anyways, I've noticed the distortion too, and I wonder why didn't the audio engineer or anyone do anything about it. It still one of my favorite vocal songs! and the distortion is much less noticeable on speakers.

And, now  you see why having a party at your place where alcohol and your sound system playing to distorting levels isn't such a good idea after all. wink.gif

If there ever was an album worthy of a MoFi or AF remaster it's Come Away With Me.

noticed it before but it didnt bother me that much until I heard it with the lcd2. The lcd2 seem to move the vocals forward more than my normal cans. It made  listening to that song  unbearable and almost tainted my judgment of the lcd2. Talk about bad first impressions.
