I used to see Jonny play at Kirby's bar in Moorhead, MN back when I was in college. He sounded pretty damn good back then, and he was only 13-14 at the time I think.

I especially like the Wander This World album. I believe he will have another album coming out this year. I have heard that this will be more of a "Rock" album and ventures away from his blues roots. Too bad, I really like his blues, hopefully he doesn't wander too far away.

The only blues CD I have is Jonny Lang- Lie To Me.
I actually listen to it frequently.

What about his next album? Is it as good? I was checking All Music Guide and the review there didn't sound promising. I know not to trust reviews though. So, how is it? I see Snow likes it, is it much different than Lie To Me?

Isn't it more important to make up your own mind about a CD instead of reading the reviews?

If your intrested in blues go to www.electricblues.com They have a comprehensive review section and good links. Check out
Walter Trout- Live Trout, Melvin Taylor- Dirty Pool, AlbertCummings- From The Heart.
Another good link is
www.cdbaby.com They have an extensive list of relatively unknown blues artists as well as every other genre of music. Try
Becky Barksdale- Real Live, Albert Cummings and Damn Yankee-Long Way, Melanie Mason- Bendin The Blues for starters. Really good stuff!!!

Well..................yes

But, it's cheaper to read reviews and get opinions to see if I might like it before spending my money.

It's also more cheaper not to buy reviews, listend to the music yourself in the store or at friends and develope your own opinion and than deside to buy or not.

Jonny Lang's "Wander This World" is quite a bit different from his debut, and except for a couple songs is more pop/rock/soul oriented than blues. It's not a bad disc, it's just not blues.

Aside from the fact that cd reviews typically are just one person's opinion, have you ever noticed that 99.9% of them are favorable reports? There's very little objective balance from the negative side. Reviewers tend to write about CDs they like, and if you bounce a CD around long enough you're bound to find someone who likes it.

All Music Guide does try to be a bit more objective, but even they have an overabundance of of positive reviews. It's best to take reviews with some reservation unless you know you share common ground with the reviewer.

Fist things first.
I do not know anybody that has this CD (other than on this forum). The stores here do not have a method to listen to CDs before buying them. Remember I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks for thinking of me Peter.
