Was thinking about getting an Echo Indigo, but supposedly they won't fit the Express slot.... what should I do?

I can't spare one of my USB ports.

Thanks

MBP has an optical out : use it with an amp/DAC like the Ibasso D1 or other ...

yah, don't bother with expresscard for sound, use the optical, or go with a pico or something similar

Another vote for the optical since the OP stated USBs are scarce. Otherwise just get a hub.

You are correct, that card uses CardBus not ExpressCard technology.

Any recommendations on par with the Opera?

Thanks

The Optical definitely, it supports very high bit depth and i believe up to 192 kHz. I would heartily recommend any dac from Headroom. If you're not looking to dump a bunch of money into it the new micro's are excellent they may be more expensive than some but consider it money saved from not having to buy an additional card for your express card slot.

I am currently using this combo. MBP > optical > headroom DAC.

I am extremely happy with the sound coming out of this.

Hey guys just a quick question. Apparently the macbook is actually a great source as it can play music up to 192 hz. I was wondering how the macbook compared to an imod as a source. Which one sounds "better"?
