They kinda remind me of bluetooth for your cell phones.

Another year down the drain.

Good thing I am not a Senn fan boy or I would be sorely disappointed. Still not giving up hope on some good electrostatics though

One word.

Meh.

THey had all the new IE's, up to IE7. THey didn't have the IE8 there. But from what they told me they are the same drivers but with "tuneable" bass.

Pretty much the IE7 is not going to be even remotely worth the ~$300 retail price, for what is pretty much glorified iBuds. They all appeared to be single dynamic driver earphones.

The bass was quite boomy and distorted, of course, they wouldn't let me try them with my Pico and Laptop, which I had on me at the time. One already had a blown driver, was distorting like crazy.

It's sad to see Sennheiser fall to the level of me too copycat medicore products. Sennheiser is no longer in the true innovative high end market anymore. Of course, they haven't been for some time now.

Of course I could be wrong, and they showed Jude something else like the HD700, 800, whatever. But, yeah. Snowball's chance in hell for that one. Although I did drive through a snowstorm on the way to Vegas....

Well said!

I think we can scratch the HD700's coming out this year.....assuming there is such at thing at all and it wasn't simply made up by someone here. If they had ANYTHING in the works regarding them, they would at least have some information about the product there to create some kind of buzz on it EVEN if they didn't have a prototype out there.

There is no way Senn would pass on the opportunity to create buzz at CES on a blockbuster product like the HD700.

There is buzz, they are telling certain reps to spread false info about the headphone and they get among other things a 25 pages long thread on head-fi

I don't even remember when I bought my now 'vintage' looking HD-600, but I was excited when the HD-650 came out. And new excitement came every time rumours of a new top model came around (even the 'I know a guy, that knows a guy who heard such and so' type of stories were fun) with the announcements of official Senn announcements being something very special.

This particular story is more about Sennheiser doing a good job advertising their new products through Head-Fi. Clever, good for them, and it is exactly why many read this forum: to find new headphone toys - maybe in this case ones they were not looking for.

Seeing my HD600 getting old, and taking into account that I won't get any of the first batch of any new model, I foresee I won't be getting anything new within the first year after the announcement (yes, I decided against getting the HD650). So the waiting continuous while I'll invest in replacement parts to patch the old one up or make it balanced and leave the whole new headphones idea be. This is what I feel Sennheiser wants me to do, completely use up the old one...

..and buy other Senn products I was not looking for in the mean time.

So, there really isn't anything new about new dynamic headphones comming this year!

Bummer.

I guess very few here read the Meets forum. I'm banking & betting that Sennheiser announces this new flagship at CanJam '08, since it's going to be a big one for them.

I can't wait till the new Senns come out... ^_^ but I also have mixed feelings since it would decrease the value of my HD650's... Oh well new headphones are better than a few dollars lost on current ones.

Bringing this topic from the dead....

once year ago, in fact.

perhaps we'll actually see new HD's for CES 2009

Maybe both, just in the same headphone?
Above post from 2007 reads eerily similar to posts of just a few days ago. Nice thread necro, btw.

I put my vote on the HD680 and HD800... to be launched at CES 2009.
I want to see it
I just wonder, I guess the HD680 will be some kind of other version of the HD650, but what will the HD800 be a like ?!
