question to the OP:

in your picture, the volume dial is at about 10:00 position, it that your normal listening level for HD650? If so, I'd say Gilmore Lite has pretty high gain.

Whenever I changed something in my setup, the sound of the GS-1 clearly changed. Justin makes transparent amps, and this is all you want. You will hear your source.

10:00 for casual listening, more when I want music to be a background. 12:00 for normal listening, 2:00 is loud.

I have the Gilmore Lite (DPS coming soon), and got the HD650 a few weeks ago. I think they work great together. But I haven't tried other amps with HD650 so I can't compare.
