A friend of mine wants to invest about 700-800€ in a computer based audio setup.
He says that he wants speakers AND headphones however I think he would like a good pair of speakers better and end up using the headphones quite seldom. I guess he wants to feel the music (I think this because he always listens very loud to headphones).
I thought about some kind of self powered monitor speakers and a device to get the sound to the speakers. I don't know if a "normal" DAC is enough for that or if there is a need for pre-amplification. His room is quite big so he has many options to position the speakers.
Do you think this is a good solution or would you recommend something different altogether?
I'm pretty much clueless with speakers so please help me, thanks.
