Hey thx for that reassuring info. I really appreciate your input.

Just a quick question concerning MK amps...

Do you guys break them in before cranking them up?

Also, I don't get this part of the specs between both amps...the MK IV and MK V. The power output is reversed? Is this a typo?

The MK IV specs:
Power Output:
500 mW @ 300 ohm
300 mW @ 120 ohm
100 mW @ 32 ohm
THD+N: 0.1% (100 mW @ 300 ohm)

The MK V specs:
Power Output:
187 mW @ 300 ohm
250 mW @ 120 ohm
500 mW @ 32 ohm
THD+N: 0.05% (100 mW @ 300 ohm 1KHz)

________________________________________

The MK III specs:
Power Output:
350 mW @ 300/600 ohm
300 mW @ 120 oh
100 mW @ 32 ohm
THD+N: 0.15% (80 mW @300 ohm)

David has responded to my question about this on his forum.

The solid-state design of the MKV is what causes the differences Actually if you take a look at the specs of most solid state amplifiers (both headphone and speaker), you'll generally find as the load impedance decreases, the output power increases!

yeah i'm kinda wondering 500mw for 32 ohm, isn't that a bit too loud
btw
please give some impression on MKV
thanks

I just don't know if I can hold out much longer

I keep going back to Little-Tube and gazing at the MKV. It is addictive! I have a need for a High End SS headphone amp, so I'm about 2mm from pulling the trigger. Can anyone think of a reason why I shouldn't? Or, perhaps encouragement to get it right now this very second?

All of you were 100% correct about David and the customer service of Little DOt. He is an outstanding gentlemen to do business with!!!!

It would be great if it arrives before Christmas but I kinda doubt it will.

Just another member of the Little Dot Family!!!

Roger

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My LD MKIII arrived yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about customer service!!!!!!! I placed my order on 12/16/07, it was shipped on 12/18, and arrived in Alabama on 12/22. Unbelievable! I didn't think there was any chance I'd get it before Christmas!

Can't use it before Christmas but I took a peek to make sure it arrived in one piece and it looks great! I can't believe how BIG....and HEAVY...it is!!!!

I will post more after listening on Christmas Day!!!

Hit the button! It's X-Mas!

DO it NOW! I am sure this amp is a beast and well worth the cash.

This is what David wrote to me when I purchased it.

I have just hooked up and fired up my new MKIII and I am totally blown away by what I'm hearing!!!!!!! For the maiden voyage I decided to go with some Ottmar Liebert and my hd 595's. With the volume knob turned all the way up I hear absolutely ZERO noise!

I have been reading about tube noise, ground loop problems, and how bad the amp sounds out of the box until about 30 hours of burn in. Let me tell you...I hear nothing but the most incredible sounds I have ever heard in my life!!!!!! Ottmar and my 595's have never sounded this good!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this amp sounds any better at 30 or 100 hours of burn in I may not be able to take it. I may have an audiophile breakdown!!!!!!!

This is one of the Best Christmas' of my life thanks to David and the gang at Little Dot! My amp is PERFECT!!!!! My life may never be the same again. I've simply not ever heard music sound this good!!!

These stock tubes sound incredibly good. It will be a long time before I mess with tube rolling.

If you've been thinking of getting an MKIII, or any LD amp, do it immediately!!!!!!!! The build quality, the sound, just the beauty of this amp, is incredible!!!!!!!!

I apologize for gushing and rambling like a child but I can't put into words exactly how I feel right now!

Thanks again to David and the gang at Little Dot for this incredible purchasing....and listening....experience!

Wow Roger! Very glad to hear your impressions. I can only hope that others will follow in your footsteps. Little Dot is going to have to change their name to Big Dot here pretty soon!!!

Glad to hear that you enjoy it. Give it some time to burn in and then think about rolling in some new higher quality tubes. It'll make an already great amp sound absolutely fantastic.
