I'm pretty sure they are using 64kb/s HE-AAC. If you listen to the upper harmonics it seems pretty indicative of the codec and it would make since to half their bandwith without giving up much subjective quality. Though i've come across a few songs that have obviously been transcoded from MP3.

 

HE-AAC seems to be very popular with internet radio these days.

FWIW, MOG is 256k-320k via computer.

Listening to .977 The Oldies Channel, in Media Guide/ WMP11 (with Asio plugin), at 128 Kbps.  Same tunes sounds better than  WMP playback at 320 Kbps.  Some one can explain this ?
