Closed cans: alot of times with the stock pleather pads no matter the closed cans you will get warm ears (even sweaty) which usually results in a NON-continious use of them for more than an hour at a time (unless you just don't mind damp uncomfortable ears!!!)
however open cans like the senn's and grado's allow your ears to breath and stay cool. I find them nice light feeling (in comparison) and can be kept on all day (literially).
That is why for me I don't think (asides from the Sony MDR-3000's which are perhaps the most comfortable closed cans)
I will never by a closed style can again.
