My new King of IEMs (Tony's Triple.fi review) - Page 12

If you can choose a different alternative, I would really point you towards Head-Direct RE1. I haven't been so amazed by a IEM for a long time. They are somewhat similar to Triple.fi, but with less midbass and more forgiving upper midrange. I've been auditioning them for a week and I'm amazed. They are going to be officially listed on may. If you can wait a couple of weeks to get them, they are better than any other IEM I have tried save for the Triple.fi (I would call them a tie). The RE1 will cost around 200$, but unlike the Triple.fi they need an amp, as they have an impedance of 150 ohm. These are the two best alternative you can get.

im also considering portable ATH-ESW9... how would you compare it to Triple.Fi, sound-quality wise?

I second Tony's recommendation of RE1. It is a superb IEM for its price.

Just purchased a set a few weeks ago and was totally impressed by its sound stage!

2 and 1/3 year bump. Impressive... You should post your impressions in the Triple.Fi Appreciation Thread.
