Ultrasone PROline 750 VS Sennheiser HD-25-II

Yes, I know, another topic. But, the fact is, that now I've read many more comments, review etc. So I am pretty sure to chose either the PROLine 750, or the HD-25-II.

I don't want a Denon D2000, the AKG K271-S is a bit too "studio" for me, and Ultrasone DJ1 Pro, well, it's a PROLine 550 after all. Beverdeynamic is not enough efficient (starting for high end at 250 Ohms). And I want a sealed Headphone.

So, I was going to test the HD-25-II in a store, price range is about 175-200; but I founded the Ultrasone PROLine 750 at 240 on Internet.

I listen to Electro and house, and I need a little bit of isolation. I don't have a dedicated AMP, I will use the Headphone on a Soundblaster Audigy 4.

Which one is better for me? PROLine 750 or HD-25-II?

Thanks!

750's are great for electronic/house/etc..

Except for portability, there is little the HD25-1 II would beat the PROline 750 on.

Concerning the objective quality: Yes. But the HD25 has a different tonal balance. Not that much amount of bass, not that much highs.

The Proline 750 isolates quite well and fits to your music, so it might be right for you. It will benefit from better amplification, but I guess it will still sound pretty good if you plug it into your soundcard.

Ok, so the HD25-II is more "neutral", and the PROLine 750 is maybe not so bad for electro and house.

I prefer the design of the PL750, the HD-25 look a bit "vintage" ^^.

I'll try to compare PL 750 and HD-25 in a store, if I find both in the same. (Ultrasone isn't really known if France)

This is a no-brainer.

The Prolines easily outclass the HD-25-II's in every category except portability (and perhaps isolation). Unless you want a on-the-go phone (which you can upgrade with a wide selection of after-market cables for a truly top-class portable performer), get the PL750.

And, the difference between PL750 and PL2500, does it worth the difference of price (90$ in my country )

EDIT: I'm stupid, 2500 isn't sealed at all -.-. Let's go for the PL750

The PROline 2500 is an open-back headphone - I thought you wanted a closed can? The PROline 750 is the closed topmodel of US. Well, yes, there is the Edition 9, but that one's out of reach for the money you have

Edit: OK, you were faster

Let me be blunt and make it very simple for you. If you want quality sound, just go for the Proline 750 without any doubt whatsoever. You will be very happy.

Ok, I'm buying a PROLine 750 this week
what about cable upgrades for the hd25?

i hear the mid recession in the pl750's are an issue, are the mids on the pl750's still better?

i was thinking of buying pl750's or 2500's for non portable cans but i'm wondering if i should look somewhere else. not sure how much greater the hd25 isolation is, but aside from portability, if you want to spend the extra money 750's are good. do they do just as well as the hd25's without an amp?

That depends on your ear and your taste.
