What to use for strain relief?

I'm curious to what you guys use for strain relief when you recable your headphones. Luckily when I did my hd201 I tied a knot in the cable and that was good enough, but I recently wanted to recable a pair of A130's but unfortunately I can't simply tie a knot. So basically the cable will just run from the solder points on the drivers to the plug. I'm afraid that if I accidentally tug on the wire that itll constantly pull on the solder points and the driver, which can't be good for the headphone. So what methods should I use?

I know grado uses zipties but the problem I have is that I'm using 24guage wire, which is too small to be effectively ziptied. I'll try the hot glue but from what I've experienced before it doesnt hold up very well.

what about multiple layers of glue lined heatshrink to build up a solid internal brace

You could try a steel spring and maybe heatshrink over it.

adhesive heatshrink is always my way. go to an auto-shop and get the ones they use on cars. its almost 3 times as thick as standard electronic stuff

Possibly a combination of the adhesive heatshrink with a knot tied in it, or even regular heatshrink with the knot. Just consider that if the cable is ever yanked on it would only be for a short time...so no need to account for more than that.
