EAC can't access freedb server ?

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem recently or it's just an issue on my end... it comes up with an error "Can't access host".

AFAIK, host is the server, I'm the client... so seems like the freedb server is down.

Anyway thought I'd ask here as I know quite a few use it.

Happened to me as well yesterday. The server isn't down because I could still access it using Foobar. I don't really know what's up with it.

Change your freedb server in EAC to one of the following:

http://freedb2.org:80/~cddb/cddb.cgi

http://freedb.musicbrainz.org:80/~cddb/cddb.cgi

http://tracktype.org:80/~cddb/cddb.cgi

Apparently the original freedb group is having issues but all of the others here work.

Cheers, that worked.

I tried the above freedb servers and still can't access freedb, anything else to do?

I have been having the same problem accessing freedb. I've just been copying song lists from whereever and pasting them into notepad, cleaning them up and then using the 'Get CD Information From' -> 'Clipboard' option.

It's a bit more of a hassle, but not much more. Sure beats typing the song names in.

^^ I did the same thing, but then decided I'd just type in the tags the old fashion way myself in iTunes, where I convert from WAV to ALAC. Doesnt seem to take any longer than deleting erroneous stuff out of titles.

My weekend assignment; 10 albums.

What version of foobar do you have? these last few builds don't have freedb lookup.

NM!! MYBAD!

I didn't have the option for freedb installed...now it's fixed
