Russian Pop is 99% rubbish.

Try this band, not pop, but likely the only good thing happening in Russian popular music now.

i agree, russian pop is quite horrendous, but at any rate:

1. T.A.T.Y.
2. Tanya Bulanova


Inna Zhelannaya, if you want better sounding music, more on the folk/pop/world side of music though as opposed to straight pop like t.a.t.y and tanya etc

russian pop is such trash... like...bad

it is great entertainment because its funny bad at best.

As far as the russian music scene... there is some decent rock (Zveri (beasts) Îôèöèàëüíûé ñàéò ãðóïïû "Çâåðè" :: Ãëàâíàÿ) as well as some really legit underground hip hop that never makes it to the mainstream (only supertrash does). Most russian listen to a lot of foreign music.


There are a ton of super hot super huge tittied prefab pop singers (cant forget those... ViaGra, Alsu, Strelki, Devochki, Zhana Friski, etc) ...... all are great to look at when you can mute the tv.

Its like instead of an adult website, they created pop music.

Try "Земфира" Zemphira - the only pop probably I liked! Its a good one!

Origa is also Russian and does some rather nice stuff. I especially like her collaborations with Yoko Kanno on the intro themes for Ghost In The Shell-Stand Alone Complex and Ghost In The Shell-Solid State Society.

Serebro is a young group but already has a couple of good songs.

I don't think that Russian pop music is horrible. It can be fun to watch and listen.

 

I will try to post some video which I will find interesting. Here it is. Music is not great but fun to watch.
