How do the Beyerdynamic DT-770 (Edition 2005) headphones sound?

I've read that they have plenty of bass but how are the Mids & Highs?

Does the overall sound have clarity with deep bass (which i want!) or are the Mids & Highs clouded with too much bass?

The "DT-770 (Edition 2005)" claim to have a more refined sound of the Mids & Highs compared to previous DT-770 models in the past and have a wider Sound Stage? Are any of these claims true?

I'm almost fully convinced to buy them but I need the help of you knowledgable Head-Fi'ers for a 2nd opinion.

Genre's that i listen to: Mostly Electronic (House, Trance, Breaks, Drum & Bass), Hip-Hop, Rock

The highs and upper mids are recessed a little. but thats fine for you considering the music you like. (i like the same stuff lol)

i just got my DT770 Pro's (i think their older than the 2005's) not sure though. i love the bass and it has good highs and mids.

I have owned the Pros for 7 months now and am very pleased with them (I realize now that they may not be the 2005s, I thought they were). The sharp separation of the lows from the highs (IMO) was a bit fatiguing when I first bought them, the mids being somewhat recessed, but many hours of burn in has softened the highs and smoothed the overall sound. Separation is clean and clear, and all frequencies seem to be tight and responsive (esp. the lower frequencies). I listen mostly to electronic music (Aphex Twin, Booka Shade, Plug, Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, etc.) and have a very satisfying experience doing so with these headphones.

It's not that they're recessed...rather that there's more bass than neutral.

The DT770s are known for their bass. If you do a search you'll find tons of info and opinions.
