Furutech DeStat - Page 2

Have you noticed the photogenic quality of today's top classical musicians? I can't decide if it's good or bad... on the one hand they're gorgeous and very fun to watch, but on the other hand, I wonder if there's someone less good looking who didn't get the gig and might be more talented. It's almost MTV like.

A link to more info was provided.
Try reading it.

Oh wait, you're just here to thread crap.
My mistake.

have you *seen* netrebko. wow!

but i think she can sing. not everything. her bel canto leaves something to be desired, but she is legitimate. still though i'm sure her model looks gave her more of a start in the industry than her singing.

as for overlord, ignore, ignore, ignore. if enough people do that, hopefully *it* will go away.

anti-dust anti-static

I'm interesting in a bit more dialogue regarding the anti dust/anti-static device Furutech DeStat. Can I direct some specific questions about its price, effectiveness and your personal experience with this...I also have the Milty 3 which does seem to quiet the lps but desn't do anything to move dust around, and I have the audioquest anti static record cleaner brush but it drops little fiber strands on my lps, and seems to hold dust....maybe this is because it is old (2 years maybe?) or got wet with record cleaner accidentally. Also I have the Loricraft Audio I believe you referenced in your posting. And I am using this ONZOW Zerodust little jewel box with gel in it to clean my stylus. I am in CA and have dust up the gazoo caus I don't like AC and we get the onshore and offshore breezes here in Encinitas and then construction dust and santa ana's etc. Anyway I just joined this forum and will stop here as I don't even know if this is going to post or go to the poster directly, or what but before dishing out some $300 I'd like to know what I'm getting.

Audiofile...

I feel you, man... California dust sucks badly.

The fan on the Furutech isn't too powerful; it'll blow a little bit of dust off, but not huge amounts. I think it's primarily there to distribute the ions over the record's surface. I like it much better than the Milty, which is too fidgety for me.

I use microfiber brushes as wet brushes all the time; I think the problem is that yours is two years old. Might be time for a new one.

I hate the Zerodust... if you aren't perfect in your timing and pull it up half a millisecond late, you end up with a ball of goo stuck on the stylus. It can be really hard to get off. I just use a stylus brush and occasionally some stylus cleaning fluid.
