Jules650,
sorry to disappoint you, that would´nt be steak that would be ternera (veal).

I used to live in northern Galicia and it is impossible to buy beef there, though it is where I live now in Andalucia.

The sea food is excellant in Galicia but for the rest the people there cannot abide really tasty or spicy food and they always chill red wine for the same reason - crazy but true, the complete opposite of Andalucia and the Arab/Jewish legacy.

Yes I would have liked to be there as well.

So when are we going to have a meet here in Andalucia. I would happily help to co-ordinate something in Granada, I live just 60K away in Guadix but I suppose there would be a bigger uptake in Barcelona or Madrid - esta la vida.

Hi Black Stuart,

I think I don't understand you or maybe you are wrong . Here in Galicia we do not chill red wine. Why would we do that? The weather is chill enough! And of course we love tasty food and even spicy, in a similar way than the rest of northern spain. One of our typical tapas is the "pimientos de padrón", a kind of hot green chili that we serve just slightly fried. We even cover the "polbo a feira" (boiled octopus) with hot paprika . Our recipes are usually full of strong flavours, specially in the inland and mountain areas. In my experience southern spanish food is much softer, but maybe they like their "picante" better. Which is normal due to the hot climate there. Where did you live when you stayed in Galicia? I do not like the food usually served in the south of the Rías Baixas, for example, although their seafood is the best. Maybe you lived there?

About the meet, you may ask in this forum or even in Auriculares.org, where most people are spanish. The forum is just created, so you may wish to wait some weeks until it gains users.

Wow, very nice! It's like a combo of the travel channel meets head-fi. Makes me want to visit Spain.

And makes me want to go back home

Tenho morrinha!
Tenho saudade...

(i.e.: I am homesick [sort of, it is a complicated term to translate])

I am fortunately flying in two weeks

Nice surprise, by the way... Head-fi'ers in Santiago! Ah, my four years studying physics there...
