Wow, I am doing more A-B'ing and am just falling in love with the C3s.

The Image do not have the detail the C3 does. I was just listening to Crush (Dave Matthews) and the guitar into the 2minute mark sounds simply amazing. When I switched to the Image and played the same thing, I could hear the guitar but no where near as crisp and loud as on the C3s. Again, the Image are warmer but not as detailed and crisp as the C-3.

The more I listen to them, the more I like them. Can't wait till they are burned in all the way.

I don't know how to describe this properly, but "S"s in the vocals don't sound as crisp in Image as they do on the C3s.

Also, instrument placement is ALOT better on the C-3s then Image (but not to take anything away from the Image, just that C3 is better).
Sounds like I have something really good to look forward to hear....

By the way, just curious, do you own any other IEMs/headphones right now and if so, what are they?

That's what I thought to. This is my first over-the-ear so I will have to get used to putting them on.

Any comments on burn-in, how many hours?

Hey, really good review. Guess you're going to send back the Image now???

One thing I wanted to ask, when you said the C3 midrange is more upfront than the Image - does that mean the vocals are even closer to the head than the Image? I know we both agreed the Image has a very forward midrange, and I'm wondering how much more upfront the C3 midrange really is.

The only other headphone I have right now is the Denon C751, and the C3's sound 100 times better to me than the Denons.

But a couple points, the Denons are not burned in (10 hours only). Denon's seem like alot of treble and some bass with not that much of a midrage compared to C3s. C3's seem like they have the right and equal amount of everything (highs, mids, lows).

Armature drivers do not have a burn in period.

So the midrange is more forward than the Denons, but is it also more forward than the Image? That's the bit I'm interested in

Any of you wearing glasses and using the Custom??? This was my main concern, that the over-ears wires of the glasses would get in the way of the over-ears of the Customs

See, that's interesting, 'cos to my ears, the Denons have a very upfront midrange without being overbearing. The Image midrange is a lot more forward than the Denon - too forward for my ears a lot of the time - and now that you've confirmed the C3 have an even more upfront midrange than the Image - I know there's no point in wondering about them anymore, since I couldn't tolerate more forward vocals.

This morning I decided to send the Image back, but on certain music they're so damn good, I wonder if it's possible to adapt to the midrange. . . well, I'll know in a few weeks.

I'm wearing glasses and using Westone UM1, which have very similar design (over-the-ears).
It does not pose any problem at all. The cable of the customs seem to be a bit thicker - but I doubt it be uncomfortable... unless you constantly taking them on and off, perhaps .
Oh, and cannot resist:

I think he actually meant it without the comma.

Like a burn-in period of time...

Recieved Custom-3s today

My Custom-3s arrived today. I'm listening now, but not ready to post any impressions yet. I am struggling with getting a seal, which I didn't expect, but I think I'll get that figured out. The bigger issue is that I have some congestion in my head, and my right ear is killing me. I think I'll wait till that clears up, before I try to do any serious evaluation of these earphones. It's painful to listen right now.

Ugh!! I'm dying to hear any / all listening impressions at this point cause I'm waiting for mine. I was hoping to get them today, but I just ordered two days ago... so I guess that was too much to hope for. Get well.....much listening to be done!

I've personally experienced armature burn-in, you can't make an definitve statement like that! With all do respect, I disagree.
