The PocketDock with Line Out and FireWire.

Includes two 6 ft. ultralight and ultra-compact white audio cables: One with 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo plugs on both ends, one with stereo RCA and 3.5 mm plugs. They are slim enough to fit into the palm of your hand and come with detachable velcro straps for convenient storage and cable management.

This PocketDock is compatible with the following iPod models:
• iPod touch [1]
• iPod classic [1]
• iPod nano (all generations) [1]
• 5G iPod (video) [1]
• 4G iPod (click-wheel)
• 3G iPod (touch-wheel)
• iPod photo
• iPod mini

1. supports FireWire only for charging, not for syncing.

iPhone: PocketDock Line Out FW can currently be only used to charge the iPhone. Sync over FireWire is not supported by the iPhone. Line Out audio is not yet available.

If you had a firewire could you use this to sync an ipod with an imac?

Yes if it's 4th gen or earlier.
After that, Apple ditched Firewire support (and I'll never understand why), but you should be able to charge with it.
