Treated myself to a turntable after a 20 year break and I could not resist pre-ordering my favorite album.

The Who - The Who-Quadrophenia - Classic Records

Anyone else put there name down or own any of the other classic records re-masters. What do you think of them ?

I have Dido - Life For Rent and think it sounds lovely. I have just ordered Tubular Bells. they have many other albums I'd also like if they continue to sound good.

My copy finally arrived yesterday and this is a must for any Who fan. The album is a total rework of the 1973 original the artwork is spot on ( They even used the same paper !!!! ) the sound is great, My 1973 version is getting a bit tired now.

I have already ordered who's next

I have yet to hear any of Classic Records' work, but that's going to change very shortly. What I can tell you, however, is the guy that runs the little record shop I frequent absolutely swears by their products.

Gotta make an order soon, been dying for that Aqualung reissue... of course I'm sure I'll manage to pop The Who and Oldfield in there (never had the pleasure of hearing the bells on vinyl ).

Regarding The Who, is it really worth the investment if I have a (fairly) minty copy of most of their work? Thinking Quadrophenia specifically.

I think Classic Records does an awesome job with their re-releases. I own several and all are just great. Pick up some of the Led Zeppelin releases or their Billie Holiday or their Louis Armstrong.

I'm sure they're quite good, but damn they're expensive!

This is the first classic record I have purchased and to me it sounds great, But like I said above me original vinyl is a bit tired so for me its hard to compare the two.

Most of my Who vynil is a bit tired, thats why I ordered Who's next. But if you have mintish ( is that a real word !!!!! ) versions you maybe better buying material you don't already own.

What I can tell you is that if all classic records are as good as this you won't go far wrong.
