A note for everyone: Once you fix your signature, copy and paste it into a text file and save it on your computer in the event this ever happens again. I had done this quite often but unfortunately not recently. However I had copied 1/3 of it to someone in Yahoo and luckily I was able to retrieve that from the Yahoo message archive. Then I just did the rest from memory. So my signature is back up again with the exception of my proper Feedback link which I am going to try to track down now.

How many of you were suffering from Head-Fi withdrawal??? Aye.

As an IT person providing IT infrastructure/server support myself, I can fully appreciate the long days and nights you folks have put in to getting this site back up with very little sleep. It's really a test of will and the human spirit during these periods. Trust me, I know the feeling.

When I saw that the site was approaching 2 weeks of downtime, my only thought that all of the data was lost forever and that you were working on rebuilding the site from scratch.

The fact that you were able to recover the site is really quite the achievement. No need to apologize for the outage. Stuff happens and I'm sure you're dealing with the root cause to avoid it happening again.

Now, go get that much needed rest.

Jude and the others who worked their asses off to save Head-Fi,

Not much to say other than thanks a hell of a lot for bringing Head-Fi back to us, and creating it in the first place. I think I wasted quite a bit of money checking if it was back up with my phone at least four times per day, no matter where I was.

Got the data back - nice job. I'm an IT guy too, and fully appreciate your effort. Sadly, IT folk only get noticed when stuff breaks, so bask a little extra during these times.

That said, I can only hope backups will be moved off site, and other take-away lessons will be implemented so we don't have to go through this again. No amount of thank-you threads can repay the days you just sacrificed to the NAS gods.
