So how do you like the Zune 80?

I love mine, the lack of an EQ doesn't really bother me. Here are some pictures too.

Glad to hear the non-EQ isn't a problem, since I have one on order with Amazon (expected to ship this week or next). Figure with good phones and a good amp, no need for EQ. I wish I had it, but just happy to know it's not that critical. Can't wait to load up the Zune with higher bitrate files.

I already bought the at-home kit, with power adapter, etc. It's $99 from MS, but only $66 at Amazon.

Sorry, never had a Zune 30. I've heard people say it sounds more clear than the 30, but obviously a little less bass because of the lack of EQ.

I just switched from years of ipod to the zune30 and it was like night & day in terms of audio quality. I'm sure the zune80 is very nice. I'm still amazed that I switched and that zune sounds better.

The Zune 80 had a good quality sound but the lack of bass was enough for me to send it back. It's a shame they didn't put an equalizer on it

I was shocked they took out the EQ. I think this player looks excellent, but I wouldn't consider getting one if the bass is lacking. How would an Amp sound through the headphone out (like the IBasso T2)?

I'm not interested in the Zune 80, I want the Zune 8.

Using my PA2V2 with the Zune 30 is nice, but my PX100 headphones are not hd600 'quality', so I can't tell too much of a difference. The Zune 30 still has a eq under settings I believe.

Nice. I wanna get the Zune 80 someday

Does anyone have the Zune 80 and can comment on the sound quality vs the 30?

Does anyone hear a difference in SQ of the 30 with the new firmware? To my ears it "appears" that the SQ has less bass and more airy sound. Very hard to know for sure since there is no way for me to do a side by side comparison. I think that i would say that I prefer the old firmware sound to the new (assuming that there is a difference), but i love to faster speed of the device with the new firmware.

i plan to return my zune 80 because it has no equalizer or if there isn't an update soon.

The EQ was left out of the new zunes due to decisions regarding the Zune hardware. I wouldn't expect any firmware updates could change this.

I agree. I believe the soundstage has gotten (even) wider, and the bass has changed a bit. I digg the new sound though, I love the imersive experience a wide soundstage provides.
