I tried a pair of Skullcandies today.. - Page 2

Skullcandy, my first earphones! Now I remember the horrible super duper BASS only sound, that even put the high notes in a bassy tone. They are lying in my earphone collection (which, I hope will stay as is now -- no more purchases in the near future. These are outstanding phones: Etymotic, Sleek audio 6, Yuins, Sennheiser...

There are many here that have never outgrown their bass fascination. They just bought more expensive closed cans

(It was my friend's.. He also has a pair of er6i's, but I dont know why he has the skullcandies)
which ones did you try? the around-ear or the on-ear? (I've had the displeasure of trying most of their product line (Everything but the in-ears, the mp3 player integrated thing, and the "professional" models))

the on-ear models are probably the worst, because you get the full brunt of their attack on physical comfort, the around-ears take the pain down a notch on the sides of your head, and move more weight and pressure to the top of your head

oh, and I've actually found that playing music through them INCREASES my discomfort, as it not only hurts the ears, it also hurts the ear drums

although, I don't see an issue with them, for the average teenager
the #1 song right now is called "Boom Boom Boom", and the lyrics are quite inventive:

"We've got the boom boom boom, boom boom boom, boom boom boom, boom boom boom", this does continue for about 4 minutes

I almost slapped my friend for buying that song, but you're not supposed to hit girls.

ANYWAYS, back on topic.... I was about to buy SKs (proletariats, I think. I wanted noise cancellation) a year ago, nice to know that someone that has tried them say they are crap instead of mindless flaming.

I just laugh at people that have skullcandy. It's pandemic at my school.
