X-can psu - overvolt?

I've got a generic wallwart here 12V AC 5000mA, but I tested it with a multimeter and its reading 14v (its unregulated).

Would it be a good idea to use it with an X-can-v2? its 12VAC for the default psu I think.

Whilst it might work (I've never owned an X-Cans) it probably wouldn't be such a good idea as the unit would run slightly hotter than normal and probably cause more stresses on the internal components.
