"John Adams (Parts 1 & 2) - HBO" [9.6/10] High quality history; high quality entertainment. From the book by historian David McCullough. Absolutely first-rate performances and production design. I can't wait to see the upcoming parts. (...even though I know how it turns out!)

The Brave One: 7/10. Pretty strong performance by Jodie Foster.

"The Lookout" [8.9/10] Really nice film that I have had stored on the DVR for about two months. An ensemble cast gives memorable performances throughout. Jeff Daniels is a blind man who mentors a boy who's mildly mentally impaired after a car accident. The boy works in a bank and finds himself being used in a plan to rob that bank. Kept my attention from beginning to end...

"Atonement" - 3/10, seems like it tried too hard throughout, had a difficult time empathizing with the characters. Some beautiful shots though, & interesting use of instruments in the soundtrack.

Taxi Driver. I'm a little behind on my movie watching, I know.
Amazing. One cannot believe it came out of Hollywood. This is what Scorsese should have had an Oscar for, not "The Departed", which was mediocre IMO.
You have not seen this classic, do so! Outstanding cinematography, layered symbolistic, and the acting is incredible. Unfortunately some of the scenes became so famous that you desensitize to them...
