Failure To Launch: 7.5/10. Actually pretty decent and funny. SJP is charming and the rest of the cast is well balanced and the jokes are dry, my kind of style.

The Libertine - 7/10. It's an older Johnny Depp film for those who don't know. 'Twas quite worth watching.

Donnie Darko - 9/10 Amazing, deep, thought provoking

Stranger Than Fiction- 8/10, i always enjoy this film, great cast, good story, and Wreckless Eric helping Ferrell get his groove on with the lovely Maggie Gyllenhaal

Eulogy: 6.5/10. Nice ensemble cast, but it doesn't fully pull through unscathed. Good for a watch, but I wouldn't buy the DVD.

Young People ****ing: 7/10. Sweet and funny at times, 'real' and dramatic at others. A good look into the different storylines.

Batman "the dark knight" -
this movie is just too good. In terms of quality, this truly is a masterpiece. Everything was executed perfectly. Although it doesn't fall truly to the comic, it surely is carried well.

It's a dark film, hence the title. It carries on morality, the decisions batman must do and even to decide to break some rules.

Now let's talk about the character, especially joker. Heath ledger is an amazing joker. Every time he acts his role, you always have a smile on your face, even if the stuff he does is so mortifying. He's played his role and he will always be remembered as "the joker" in my books.

Harvey dent: His character build up and his corruption is superb. Hopefully i haven't spoiled much, but we all know who harvey dent is...cough twoface.

My conclusion, This movie is this best summer movie. It tops everything in my books. Just the depth eliminates the marvel movies. DC has this summer in the bag. Dorry Marvel, but the batman is just to great.

"Why so serious?"

10/10

The Dark Knight - B+

Why not an A? Well... it outstays it's plot, there's a lot of manufactured tension in the movie that comes off hokey, and it has some substantial timing issues. The first one came out swinging with nearly perfect setup on a weaker story arc, this one has the cast, writing and characters to be the perfect movie, but falls short of the first one's sense of style/production/pizzaz whatever.

That being said, Harvey Dent is cleverly done, acting is spot on, genuinely the best Batman movie out there. The Joker is perfect, if I had a vote it'd be for Heath Ledger's posthumous Oscar but there's not enough of him to fill 2.5 hours. In short, it falls just short of ENORMOUS expectations... where as Iron Man surpassed them.

I'll have to see where the third in the trilogy lands, but with Ledger dead it'd be tough to ever see a performance equal his.

Hellboy: The Golden Army - A-

I love this kind of movie with its fantasy flair. A couple times I hung my head (some things just a bit too much for me, like the Prince's swordplay) but overall it was pretty nice. I'm also a Mignola fan.

Get Smart's Bruce & Lloyd, Out Of Control: 2/10. Pretty bad STV spin-off. I haven't seen Get Smart yet, but I hope it's a lot better than this piece of crap.

Harold & Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay: 6.5/10

More dirty jokes and nudity doesn't mean a better film. Less class and style than the first one. The two characters are still a joy to watch but the jokes and everything else is a big letdown, even stoned.

The Dark Knight: A

Awesome movie. Great performances all around. In my opinion, it lived up to most of the hype and did not disappoint.

Smart People: 5/10. This movie is about a really dysfunctional 'smart' (i.e. high IQ) family with crappy relationship/social skills. No real explanation for the way they behave is given though, and many scenes are not very realistic. The performances are quite good though. The ending is too abrupt as well.
