12 Years a Slave (2013): 10/10

Django Unchained, without the jokes. Or the spaghetti western soundtrack. Or the sweet, sweet revenge.

But no, seriously. Go watch it.

I've always been absolutely fascinated by dolphins, but I had no idea that orcas were on par with them in terms of their emotional and overall intelligence. Learning about that made this documentary all the more infuriating. It's a common tale...corporate "bottom line" focus and complete disregard for ethics and morality results in suffering...not only of the whales, but those who care for them. '

Not an easy film to watch, but it was well done and something that people should see.

Watched it too. Okay documentary but a lot of trainers making themselves dumber then they possibly could be. Having know idea about the life span of orcas... So much bs!

In a way it´s tragic there is even a point with a documentary like this. It would be like having a documentary about bull fighting and how it´s torture putting spears in a bull to have him bleed out so he can´t fight the matador...

Prisoners (2013)

Not a bad movie. Remained intriguing throughout and had a good twist. Some parts, however, were not too well explained.

Solid 8/10

Thor: The Dark World 6/10

Maybe I wasn't in the mood and expected better fight scenes on a grander scale.  The 3D effect didn't do much or help out at all. Credit goes to Loki this time.  Perhaps I would have given another point had I not scene the first Thor film.

*FACE PLAM* my pc died right in the middle of a Movie rant GREAT time to cut it short

Watched Olympus Has Fallen 8/10 Good Movie... Better than White House Down in terms of... sucking me into.... but WHite house down is still more fun. OHF is much more "real" imo. If just has that real world sense of brutatlity and sheer... well brutatlity that White House down didn't match. Yea both films where gun happy but... OHF just had a better sense of puling me into the world it painted... a more beliveable story for the take over of the White House imo. That and Morgran Freeman... NUFF SAID

wow, not bad....Hot Fuzz was hilarious, and these guys crack me up on a consistent basis. I wasn't sure about World's End when I saw the preview, but the feedback seems to be pretty solid so far. Looking forward to seeing this one.

Really? Maybe I need to see it again, but I didn't find it nearly as good as Shaun Of The Dead. Still waiting to see World's End.

Thor: The Dark World 7/10

Started a bit slow, but ended well.

Retooled by Spielberg in 3D.  I questioned the need for the 3D rerelease, since frame for frame the same movie but with CGI improvements.  Since I did not own the DVD version, and it has been years since I saw the flick last, I thought I would give this version a try.

I was blown away by both the special effects and the over all improvement in audio.  Serious depth and dimension to each and every scene.  The original animatronics and CGI were pretty good in there day, but this version dials it up another notch.

I always found the kids annoying when I first watched this movie and I can't say I feel any different about them now.  Who cares! the film is Spielberg in monster mode.  The dinosaurs have personalities that I never appreciated the first or second time I saw this film.  Even if you know what's coming the use of cinematography and sound just kept me jumping. Michael Crichton cowrote the screenplay so it stays fairly true to his original novel.  Even with no added or deleted footage this film is just better in 3D.  Highly recommended.

DVD 8.8/10  Blu-Ray 3D 9.6/10
