Too bad Superman is literally the worst superhero of all time, ever. Lol.

I fully expect the Man of Steel to be epic. Henry Cavil = awesome actor,  Zack Snyder = awesome director (300, Watchmen) David Goyer (writer of Nolan Batman movies) and all being overseen by Chris Nolan. It better be good...

by the way, here's the teaser poster..

The Dark Knight Rises wasn't as good as some reviews said, likewise with The Dark Knight and I wish Katie Holmes was in it.

Katie Holmes can't hold Maggie Gyllenhal's jock! biggrin.gif

Agree on Rises being a bit of a let down. Seriously...Dark Knight was just a masterpiece when it comes to Superhero films. Really looking forward to Man of Steel even though I loather most of the Superman universe. It'll be good.

Anna Karenina (2012): 6/10

A mostly fantastic adaptation of the Tolstoy classic (and probably the most faithful, by some distance), which is unfortunately severely hampered by its style-over-substance approach. This wouldn't be such a bad thing if the style were at all consistent, however, it is pretty much all over the place, especially during the first half of the film. It almost seems as if the filmmakers went through several iterations of the story, each presented in a very different style, and then sloppily edited it all together for the final cut. A good chunk of the film is presented almost as if it's a play (complete with set changes), however, the 'action' also frequently takes place in different parts of the 'theatre,' away from the sight of the 'audience.' And an equally large portion of the film has nothing to do with this staged theatre conceit, period. As if that weren't enough, it takes a good long while for the film to settle in on its 'mood'--before it does, we get some weird physical comedy, some stuffy high-society drama, some biting social comedy, some surrealism, and even some grit and gore. This would all be fine if it weren't so disjointed and all over the place, but for at least a solid sixth of its running length the film lacks any sort of coherence and/or consistency, period. And I don't mean that it lacks coherence or consistency in a pleasing sense. This is not Ulysses or Gravity's Rainbow that we are talking about, here. Still, when the film does work, it works incredibly well, and the casting is pretty much as perfect as one could ask for, considering that this is a British (and not a Russian) production. There's a great film buried inside of this one, no doubt about it--as is, however, it's merely 'good.' Good, but also frustrating.

It's the film that Gotham deserves but not the one it needs right now.  biggrin.gif

Nude Nuns With Big Guns (2010) 6/10

Best title ever, hence the extra point score.
Watch it to reminisce about the all night drive-in grindhouse films from the 1970's.
Drink a peyote tincture for added effect.
If you squirmed at the John and Lorena Bobbit story do not watch this.rolleyes.gif

Ted: 7/10
The scenes where Ted confronts his boss at the supermarket were the best, could not stop laughing. The rest was alright, few moments where it was over the top hilarious, but the plot was nothing special, pretty predictable imo

High five brah. Hilarious Grindhouse movie. I'm a huge fan of the Grind house style so I gave it a 8/10. It's silly, violent and, distasteful.

It's been a while but yes,I did see Hobo with a Shotgun (2011) 5.9/10.
Another great title name,I was expecting just a wee bit more from the film to live up to the title.
Most have it scored higher than Nude Nuns With Big Guns but I liked the Nuns, currently on Netflix.
Look for Street Trash (1987) or The Toxic Avenger (1984) for messy 80's cult films similar to the vengeful Hobo.
