completely disagree with this.Van damme in particular was just so bad i wantedd him to die earlier in the movie so i didnt have to watch more of his acting.

The Truman Show

Excellent plot, I just think they should have carried it out better. It didn't seem realistic, but then again Jim Carey is the star.

Agreed it was a 10/10. My father tipped me off to that one. His favorite movies of all time are the original rollerball and bladerunner so it intrigued me he was into a "cartoon". . Otherwise it woulda just flown under my radarWatched it on his recommendation and was very pleased with it. Highly recommend as well.

I actually watched half of "Universal Soldier 2" 2 nights ago. The first half was entertaining in a kind of comical-did-we-really-used-to-make-movies-like-this? kind of way. Was expecting more impressive moves from van damme but he wasn't as cool as I remember him as a kid.

lol, I know what you mean. Going back and revisiting something that we saw a long time ago, especially if it's something where we were at a much different stage of life (e.g. kid vs adult) can be pretty eye opening!  Some things hold up pretty well and others, well, dont.

I was pleasantly surprised with How to Train Your Dragon, as well. Totally slipped right past me in the theatre (only animated films I make a point of watching theatrically anymore are Pixar and Ghibli films), so when I finally watched it on DVD last month I was pretty impressed. It'd be closer to an 8/10 for me, but still. Dreamworks stepped up their game with this one. Best thing they've done since... I dunno. The original Shrek? Probably.

People Like Us 9/10

Guys and Gals, enjoy this under the radar movie.
Top rate for 2012 IMHO...satisfiying

Headphones for movies ?
I use JH-13 IEM's on a vintage Sansui AU 20000 integrated amplifier or a Yamaha C-1 preamplifier.
Very personal sound.

I'm not sure I'd go 11/10, but it was a good movie. smile.gif

Death at a Funeral (2010): 5/10

No, I haven't seen the original. Should I? This one was alright--had a couple of genuinely funny moments, otherwise it seemed pretty forced. Let me know if the 2007 one is better.

It all came down to this, worth listening to:

If you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels freeing you from the earth."

Found Larry Hagman passed away an hour ago...

Always looked forward to I dream of Jeannie after school.

One of my most favorite horror films. Saw it as a kid and stayed with me for years...still gives me goose bumps thinking about it.

Looper, 8/10. Great sci-fi. Gordon Joseph-Levitt played a frighteningly perfect young Bruce Willis.

Ending made me think about it almost as much as Inception.

Skyfall - 9/10, really good Bond movie works within the canon, fabulous to look at, excellent villain.

The Artist. Yet another movie that was nominated for or won an Oscar that was a total waste of time. Boring, lots of "talking" without the subtitles to accompany, just not a good movie imo.

Watching "She's Out of My League" again right now.... 8.5/10

For what it is, it is a well done and hilarious casting. Love "stainer" guy is hilarious. Molly's best friend (Kyrsten Ritter) also just about made me cry too.

Random Guy on Airplane: "You can't be on your phone. It's bad for the plane...."

Molly's best friend: "Excuse me, are you a plane doctor? Then shut the f..... up!"

Tucker and Dale V.S. Evil - ha ha ha ha ha/10 a really great comedy that just plays off of the scoobydoo archetype and "cabin in the woods" plot development.

Corrective edit.....I had the wrong image. redface.gif
