Do these headphones keep up with the PS1 in overall quality? Yes, subjective I know, but I am looking for a subjective answer after all.

From my perspective the ES2 keeps up with reasonably-priced hi-fi headphones quite well (HD650, HD595, A900, etc) but the top tier leaves it in the dust.

[Edit: if only finding the perfect full-size headphone was this easy!]
To me, nothing is perfect. No headphone or IEM, they all have trade offs and different flavors. After all, if something were perfect then it would probably just be annoying since it was perfect with no faults.

Having said that...the UE11's really are something special. I can't believe how good the sound is or how they managed to get something to sound so clear, yet with a bit of warmth. Bass...yes they do the bass but they also have a crazy upper end extension without being sibilant. Best of all, they are highly musical and fun to listen to. I haven't even picked up the ES2s except for quick A/B comparisons since I got the UE11's. And I really liked the ES2s....

Seriously. What? "I refuse to accept the absolute best because it is annoying" ?!?!?

Hahaha. End of the journey, no more fun.

lol i believe what he meant was that part of enjoying the experience of the chase for great sound is determining what's good and bad about it.. if it were perfect, sure ud' be happy, but then it would also signify the end to whatever search u'd have. think about it this way.. you're never going to try something again and go ahhh.... . heh.

No, we don't offer the UE-10 either. We do publish pages for them for informational purposes but send people off the UE to buy.

Those cans sound pretty darn good plugged into just about anything.

I sure will. It will be "aaah, I still can't believe how perfect this is!"

I have to agree that the UE 11 is just better in every department. I went back to compare them to my UE 10 and couldn't believe the difference. The UE 10 sounded thin and fraile compare to the UE 11. I have to send my UE 11 back for a refit on the left and find myself procratinating on doing so because I don't want to be stuck listening to the UE 10. I didn't think that anything could top the UE 10. It hurts the wallet at first, but in the end, you'll be glad you did.

BTW, LOVE the color combo.

I really have to stop visiting this website or I'll have to declare bankrutpcy soon! LOL.

Wakeride: Thanks for the impressions! I think I've gotten permission to pursue a pair of UE-11s for myself.

In the last UE-11 thread there was a lengthy discussion about ear impressions - open, closed, anywhere in between... Did you use a bite block? If so, how open?

I really like your blue/grey/white swirls. I hope to do something similar with other colors myself.

Just got my 11's back for the third time and still not a good fit on my left side. It seems like it is getting worse each time I send them in. I can push the monitor in while music is on and as long as my finger is on it I get awsome sound and fit, as soon as I take my finger off the monitor slips out a bit enough to break the seal and mute the left ear slightly. Getting really frustrated. I did not have this much trouble with my ue-5c.

The place I went to did not have bite blocks so I used 2 fingers (bent) and bit down on the second knuckle with both fingers together and just the corner of the knuckle in my mouth. This made it so my mouth was not all the way wide open but fairly close.

chef8489 - What a drag man! Sounds like you may need to just have the molds re-shot if you have not already done so.

Am I the only one who finds irony in a thread entitled "impressions" that are about UE10/11s?

Doing some research on UEs and reading some of the comments about perfection compelled me to do a slight grave dig just to say:

As it's technically impossible to get "perfect" sound reproduction, this hobby is a lot like chasing the dragon. I wonder who spends more on their fix per year, a heroin junkie or an average head-fier?

Hopefully most head-fiers don't have to perform lewd acts in exchange for their gear :P
