I keep reading things that I have just not found as problems with my D2 so here goes with some things I have found. Maybe it will help some folks. Feel free to add your own findings. BTW my D2 (4GB) is a month old and I put Firmware 2.51 on it as soon as I got it. (Without a card in the slot if that even matters)
Play list. This is documented lots of place's. In MTP mode you can transfer and use play lists with WMP11. It works great. Additionally when connected to a PC you can right click on a song or group of songs and create a play list right on the D2.
Mine integrates perfectly with a couple of 2gb SD cards I use. Admittedly I use the cards to carry different Genres of music. If I have , for instance 80's rock on the card. I just use the right click method I described above , create a play list and it's there when I browse for music. Also movies and photos that I put on the card are also there. I do have to browse for the photos on the card.
Also if I switch the palyer back to ums mode the palylists are still there and work fine. I can also browse by GENRE, artist , album etc.
I have been able to customize the player with themes found on the Internet.
All videos encoded with Cowans software work fine.
