Interconnect Length?

Thread Starter
I recently aquired some nice I.C's., very nice sound, only thing is at 1.5 meters they are a lot longer than I need (could get by with .5)

Question is, do you think sound quality would noticbly improve if I cut out a meter of cable and re-terminated them?

Your responce will be appreciated!

I wouldn't reccomend it for several reasons:

First of all, the cable builder is likely more skilled with a soldering iron than you are, and probably just did a better job with the cables than you can do.

Also, you will void the warranty.

But, to be honost, i would really love to see the insides of some nice interconnects.

Well, if you are competent with a soldering iron, you could try to terminate them yourself. Also, as an added bonus, you can solder on another pair of RCA plugs to the leftover segment and have another pair as a bonus! Yay!

I don't expect an increase of sound quality. This is not a long cable. Length may be a problem but for much longer runs like 5 or 10 meters.
