It just got delivered to me right at the start of my vacation before I left on Saturday. I took it along and have spent a bit under 10 hours with it. It is a great player! The plan was to keep my ifp-899 for a knockaround and use this at home. I bought it for the SQ (even though the video plays nicely) and to view some pictures. It is the 4GB version. Turns out I like it a lot and don't want to leave it home but it's just not gonna work as a throw it in your pocket type of player. The new plan is to sell both the Meizu and iriver and find something I can use without worry at work and at play. It is just too nice! Here are the not so great pics...

^As you can see 4GB version SL, confirmed on the box: M6SL04G

Spatializer replaced SRS WOW. 7 user EQ's as the presets are all adjustable 10 band EQ(60,150,300,550,1k,2.5k,5k,10k,16k,20k)+15 to -15db steps. Phase corrected EQ is great. Bass is super adjustable; bass and treble control, custom EQ's, and VIBE can be used together in any combination. All spatializer effects and EQ can be combined. I have used the Rockbox EQ and this is just as daunting and configurable. Reducing bass in the EQ giving more clarity then adding bass boost to add punch back without muddying up is done better and easier on this EQ than with Rockbox.

Size comparison

Specs: The only changes so far until a newer firmware comes is that it plays at 24fps and can handle larger jpegs. The battery life is 26 hours.

The player is real sweet. It is more detailed than I thought and more neutral. I like how it tames warmer stuff and with all the bass configuration you can still have plenty if you want.

The menu is configurable on what you want it to display. You can set your photos as wallpapers for menu & music/text/fm/recording screens separately and choose both the font color and the menu bar color individually. You can search and download different fonts. The whole UI is entirely customizable.

The SL has a 32ohm amp replacing the 18mw per 16ohm one. It has a nice full sound at lower volumes and has plenty of power. UE 3 studio runs at 7-11 and 20-24 with the 75ohm adapter added. Volume goes up to 40. My CD2000's with the S adapter(107ohms total; 106db sens.) run at a volume of 29.

The question everyone has is about the hiss. It does not hiss for me. I can start to hear a slight hiss start when going from volume notch 24 to 25 when paused. With the UE's(13 ohm;115 db/mw sensitivity) the loudest I will listen is at 12. The iriver is a hissfest in comparison.

I covered some of the important stuff. I am starting to write a book here! PM me with any other questions as there is really too much to cover.

I'm thinking of forgoing the pics/video and some battery life and getting a T60 4GB which will cost about $120. So a fair price for the Meizu is $125 Priority Mail 2-3 day and Paypal included. I will also let the iRiver(ifp-899 1GB) go for $35 if anyone is interested.

Thanks for looking and check out my feedback if you like!
