Sennheiser MX500 are pretty good!

I bought the MX500's as a replacement for my Sony EX70's which were destroyed by my younger brother ("how loud can these go?" ).

They fit my ears really well, much better than the Sony 888's and 848's which would hurt my ears after 5 mins.
The sound is pretty neutral with tight bass and relatively clean highs. I even dare to say they show some of that Sennheiser signature sound. Detail is not as good as from the 888's but these babies make music! I've got my foot tapping right now
The little volume-slider sucks but who cares, at $10 these are clearly the best sound one can buy.

PS. I know there's probably no-one who thinks this is interesting but I don't care .

I think it's interesting, mostly because I just picked up a pair of MX-500's recently. So far, I prefer them without the foamies.

I got them too. they're great ain't they

also were the most comfy ones for me, better than probably every headphone I tried. thats like reaaal subjective tho

I agree that the MX500s are a great value. I think I got mine for $15.00, but I don't like them without the foamies, but the foamies make them too big to fit comfortably in my ears. Additionally, they constantly fall out with the slightest movement. I do like the way they sound though.

I have the exact same problems with these, buy they sound pretty good for the few minutes I can keep them in my ears.

They fit in my ears perfectly with the foams on, very comfortable. I can shake my head around and they still won't come out! Pretty cool.

how does the senn. mx500 compared to the sony e888 or ex70 earbud?



and whats the diff. between the senn. mx 500 and senn. mx 400?

I think the MX500 sound better than the EX70's, much more balanced sound. But the EX70's have good isolation which is quite cool (and they sound pretty good too).
The difference between the MX400 and MX500 is the little volume control. Some say the MX500 also have better sound, I haven't tried the MX400 so I can't comment on that.

MX500 really shouldn't be compared to 888 - the former sounds very clean, business-like, and gives you what it is given. The latter is a musical experience - some love, some hate.

I like both - but prefer 888....tho, if amped, the MX500 really do sound good...then again, when amp well, the 888 sounds great, too!

They're both good.....

Yeah, they are the only cans that I use for portable use on the go. They are great, but I lost one of my foamies! So today, I picked up some ratshack replacements.
