I have build a meta42 headphone-amplifier with crossfeed
--> A lot thanks to all they helped me, especially to Warren and his great webiste. www.tangentsoft.net/audio
It sounds a lot better and more musicaly than my amps. (Sony STR DE 475 and NAD 304 Stereo)

I curently use a 18V regulated wall-wart power supply ($ 18,00).

Is there anything, i can do better ?

I looked a little here and there, but i found nothing that answers my questions.

Maybe there exists a good diy-project and can build my own.
I have read some about torroid-transformers.
What is a good resolution and will i hear it in sound ?

Now i builded a power-supply like in SDS Labs Headphone-Amp
see http://headwize2.powerpill.org/proje...stokes_prj.htm

But, i have a little hum.

It sounds good, a little more musical, but if i the music stops i here a bit of hum.
I stoped the cd-player and the hum is there.
Volume in 0 the hum is a little greater then as volume max.
What can be the reason of this problem.
I taked the the parts as described.
For toroidal i take Sedlbauer 50VA 2 x 18 V.
See www.conrad.de Art.Nr.: 518662

For Diode-bridge i take 40V 1.5A
See www.conrad.de Art.Nr.: 501433

Have i made something wrong ?
Have i taken some bad parts ?
Should i change/add ground-connection ?

Thanks for help !!!
