I am interested in these two (damn they're gorgeous):

the first one just looks awesome, but the second one can hold a TV.

Is elaborate furniture like this worth it or am I being materialistic and should just build one myself out of MDF and slate?

Those two racks look nice, especially the first one. Do you know how much they weigh? Maybe you should look into a rack with a frame made out of steel - sand fillable would be great. Then you can go all out on 1.5" granite shelves.

just do a DIY - it is so much fun building one.

you can color it the way you want .

with a 27 or larger TV - use 3/4 threaded rods , for smaller tv's - use 5/8 threaded rods.you can also use some aluminum tubes to hide the rods and they look awesome.

i can send you pics of the unfinished a/v shelf if you want.

Screw the tv, I'll probably get the apollo, building something like that would take me too long although I love working in the wood shop. I'll just make a tv stand later.

How much does the apollo cost (with possible discount, or used)?
