10ft of cable...

My HD555 has 10ft length of cable and its too stiff to roll up like a water hose. How do people roll their cable up when its time to put them away? Without damaging the cable of course...

I have Senn HD595s and was actually wondering this also. I usually just leave my headphone cable and extension cable lying in a mess on the floor

The thought's never occurred to me before, but I think I'd take a wine bottle and wrap it around. I think it'd look quite classy.

I use the over/under method to roll up all of my headphone cables, in a roll about 5 or 6 inches in diameter, and then use a velcro strap to keep it from unrolling. Works a lot better than just rolling it up like normal.

I'm not sure what the over/under method is, but I just loop mine into 6 inch circles and use the velcro things for cable management to hold the loops in place. Works great.

There are a million guides that show how to do it with visuals, but that was the quickest thing I could find.

It takes only a couple seconds longer than rolling up a cable the normal way (called "straight coiling" in the article). I've been doing it for a while and it really makes the headphone cables behave a lot nicer, because when you remove the velcro they just unravel completely with no tangling (Literally. I remove the velcro and let the whole roll drop while holding the plug, and it all unravels as if it were never rolled up), and will lay perfectly flat because there is no twisting in the cable to cause it to try to coil back up.

And if you are rolling your cables, make sure to give them a quarter-twist as you roll them, so as to not strain the cables inside. It also helps them coil into a more uniform shape.
