Cardas cable length for HD-600s? Is shorter better?

I'm getting a Cardas cable for my Senn HD-600s, and would like to get a 20 footer, but am wondering if the longer cable degrades the sound versus a shorter cable?

Has anyone compared different cable lengths of the same cable to see if the longer one sounded worse?

Thanks!

I think the shorter is the lenght, the best would be the signal, that's physical.

But I don't know if the difference can be eard.

I've compared the 10 ft to the 20 ft and I can't tell the difference.

Good Question, merc

Good Question, merc. I'm facing the same decision right now. I've heard there's no difference at all but I'd like to hear more confirmations about this (like Todd R's above).

My suggestion would be to get the shortest cable THAT WORKS FOR YOUR LISTENING POSITION. If you buy a 10 footer, then later find out that it's not long enough, any sonic advantage that it might have had over a longer one will be gone when you add an extension cable.

I bought a 15 ft. Cardas cable for my HD580s, because it was the perfect length for my listening position. (Most Cardas dealers don't stock this length, but Cardas does make it standard. I received it less than a week after I ordered it.) It sounds great, and I can't imagine that a 10 ft. version would sound noticeably different, although I don't have one on hand for an A/B comparison.
