Loved the first album, loved the Lon Gisland EP, and the new album is fantastic. "Frigging awesome" indeed.

Yeah the new album is very good, I have to admit I'm surprised (happily though) that there's a thread for him, I always thought he was very under the radar, good to see he's catching on though!

Listened to Flying Club Cup several times over the last couple of days. The better sound quality is a major plus. However, part of the charm of Orkestar, for me, was the smoky Bavarian Tavern feel, like a lost work pulled off an old eight track. It had a quaint charm while Cup sounds a little too studio.

The later album was refreshing to my ears. This latest one feels a little same'ish, and none of the tracks have struck me like "Postcards from Italy" or "Scenic World".

Cup is good enough. However, I was just hoping for a little more.

Good to hear from some Beirut fans! The Flying Cup Club is their best work IMO, it sound so fresh and airy - the kind of thing I would love to hear on some K701
