Swans M200, M200MKII or S200A? I need collegefi computer speakers!

Alright, I'm at college, I have a Motu MkII 828 as my interface (I was into recording before I had to come here), I listen to my headphones (Beyerdynamic DT880) with a Headroom Total Bithead) constantly, and I need some damned good speakers that will fit on my rather small desk.

I've narrowed it down to Swans. The M200 are very, very well reviewed, and only $200. The M200MkII's are a newer version with some slightly different electronics and that's all I can really find out about them. The final option, for $500, are the S200A's, which are very damned nice, attractive and I can handle the raise in price. The really important question is.. Are the S200A's worth it? Can anyone vouch for the worthyness of way more money?
Are they overly huge? I can pretty easily get them 9" away from the wall and 2 feet from my head, spaced properly and with the tweeter landing somewhere around my chin, which is less than ideal, but acceptable.

They'll be replacing my Yamaha HS80M's that I still have at home. I'm done recording at any high level and I want to enjoy my music a little more. The Yamahas I can probably sell for around $500 to fund the more expensive Swans, if that's what I decide to do.

Thoughts?
EDIT: I don't want to come across as being completely set on Swans, I'm open to all kinds of other ideas too. 2.0 and self powered is the only requirement.

there is something about the M200 you should put into consideration. that is.... a certain chance number of them has the problem with the left (? not sure.. forgot which side) side not working after a while

People said it was the design problem with the amplifier inside the speakers. M200MKII may be.. just may be engineered to correct he problem with eh amplifier on M200

By going from a Yamaha HS80 to a Swan M200,you are basically going from an 8" monitor to a 5" monitor.I am using some Event ALP5s with complete satisfaction but I am not sure 5" monitors are small enough for your small space. If space isn't all that critical, just use the Yamahas.

not to hijack, but I am looking at the HS 50/80 series. Can you briefly give your impressions on the HS80s compared to other speaker systems you have heard?

thanks!

Space is sadly an issue. I shouldn't have bought the HS80M's in the first place. At home, I'm in a relatively small room, so the 5" on any of the swans will be better for me. Here at college, I'm in an even smaller room, and I have WAY less deskspace.

In other news, the HS80M's ARE excellent monitors. They're true to the source, and in a proper room (I brought them all over the place and got chances to compare them to mackies and such) they really, really shine.

Granted, the important thing to remember is they are pretty damn boring, like all studio monitors. Despite what everyone thinks, headphones still hype various ranges to make them interesting to listen to. If you're not going to be doing studio work, I don't suggest them. They work well for their purpose, which is listening for what sounds bad, then adjusting so that when the music you're working on gets played through a wide range of OTHER speakers, it can be a neutral as possible, letting the various systems color it.

Minor bump, but I believe I'll probably end up with the M20MkII.

The really important thing is.. Where on earth can I order them?

Swans M200MKII can be ordered from newegg and an ebay shop, just search for Swans M200MKII

All Swans speakers show up as "deactivated items" on the newegg.com site at this time.
