I was interested in this earlier for my MS-2i's and remember a lot of people were recabling with either cardas or canare starquad cable. If you wanna go higher up the ladder, I believe Larry at headphile does quite a lot of recabling for Grados.

Unless you are married to the SR325 why not sell them for say $225 and the money you were going to use for a re-cable (about $200) use it to get an used RS-2 which sell used from $375 to $425 including S&H.

Re-cabling does improve the sound but you do not get your money out when you sell the headphone. Plus IMO the improvement by re-cabling is not as profound as going from SR325 to RS-2.

hmm...good tips there.

just to clarify...are you saying that if i were to recable my 325 via headphile with some good cable, you think thats as good a upgrade as actually buying the RS-2?

or have i got that wrong?

thanks for any clarification.

He is saying that while re-cabling is an improvement, your money is better spent by upgrading your headphones, since they make more of a difference in sound than a cable.

Yes, and I forgot "not" in the post. This mistake has been corrected.

i had a cardas recable on my 325i's and it only cost me 70 bucks. . .but I also paid 230 for the 325i's NEW.

so in my case It was more beneficial to recable than go for the rs-2s.

I loved the way that they sounded with the cardas cable, crystal clear.

i also had no problems with the headphones being overly bright, but some often complain about that.

good luck, enjoy the 325i
