Sharper Image Headphones

Thread Starter
Sharper Image has this on sale for $19.99. It's their Deluxe model.

Professional-style, full-range stereo headphones:
  • Super-thin 40 mm diaphragm and a powerful neodymium magnet drive provide rich, full-range stereo sound.
  • Softly padded, closed cup design effectively helps screen out ambient noise.
  • Comfortable, self-adjusting headband.
  • Includes 10.5-foot single-side cord, 3.5 mm gold plug and 6.3 mm plug adapter.

Does anybody have any opinions on them?

heh, they closely resemble the Coby i have, also Kenwood uses the similar design.

the only differce is the outer plastic design. everything else...how the drivers are covered by that black pad (its a plastic casing underneath).

The two headband coils...and the cushion band...all scream...the same model Coby and Kenwood use. and its one wire connection too.

They do sound good enough. BUT...the drivers (because of plastic casing) hurt the ears after some 10-15 min.

I recommend people to STAY AWAY.

It looks similar to the optimus headphone in the Ratshack store. So, stay away might be a good decisionion or you can buy for parts.

Welcome to Head-fi, sorry about your wallet.

If you want a similar, semi-closed design at that price point there are a few people who recommend the Phillips HP170's. You can get them on Amazon.com or at Target for $19.99. I almost bought a pair myself today, with plans to transplant drivers from a pair of Koss KSC-50's. I freaked out when I saw they were much bigger than I thought.

EDIT: Phillips phones looked more comfortable to me. And not as cheap looking, either.
