New "Tweak" for achieving "Absolute Sound"

With all the back-and-forth over sound improvements gained from cable/component synergies, I fear we have all overlooked the obvious weak link in the chain...our own hearing!

"Yes!", you say "...but what can I, an obsessed tweaker, do to improve my hearing?". "What tweaks can I employ to inch closer to absolute sound?"

Last night - after washing a couple vicoden down with a shot of Milagro - it came to me in a flash!

Cryo Irrigation (I call it "Cryo Earigation")
That's right! ...Just bend over, tilt your head and have a fellow audiophile pour some liquid nitrogen in your ear canal. This process will re-align the molecular structure of your eardrum, nerve endings, etc... and is "guarenteed" to
totally eliminate "ALL" background noise that haunts the listening experience. In fact, I would be so bold as to proclaim there is not a cable nor power conditioning device available - at any price - that will reduce unwanted background noise as effectively as Cryo Earigation!!!

Don't forget to bend over before attempting Cryo Earigation as success is dependent on correct orientation of ear canal relative to the directional flow of liquid nitrogen applied during the process

I've tried this. Once you get over the fact that your ear drums have crystallized and are useless, you really notice a dramatic reduction in offensive sound from your system. Well... all sound, but with your pesky and limited hearing out of the way, you'll find you can really tune your other senses to get into the performance like never before.

Damn lol

Just how many pills does it take to get to the middle of your silly center?

Go-go bionic ears! Speaking of which, anyone see the bionic woman? pretty cool hearing upgrades she got lol.

Ouuuuch... I thought that you were going to mention exercise, which I've found to really help with the listening experience and general well-being. Get that blood circulating!

Y'know... I've read that even if your hearing system has been destroyed, your brain can still process information it believes to be coming from the ears. People with nonfunctional ears have reported no reduction of tinnitus after the auditory nerves had been severed. Pretty strange, eh?

Check out this experiment.

Have someone lay their head sideways on a table, and after warning them pour some ice water in their ear. Tell them to wait for a count of about a minute, then have them stand up.

The ice water will have changed the temperature in the inner ear, causing the fluids inside to get colder and 'freeze up' a bit.

The subject will have zero balance, and in my experience it is good to do this in a rather open area. Can produce hilarious results.

Put lukewarm water back in the ear to re-stabalize, otherwise the ear will re-adjust in a few minutes afterwards.
Causes nausea for a while afterwards though

Warn your subjects before doing the experiment! :P

Hahah, yeah. My college psychology professor taught us that one, but he suggested that we do it on totally drunk people, as alcohol influences the viscosity of the fluid in the middle ear. He suggested getting two glasses of water, one ice cold and one fairly warm. Then pour the ice water in one ear and the warm water in the other.

According to him, the person won't be able to stop going in circles.
