I took normal shielded CAT5 network-cable. (the stiff version, it can't assemble with plugs)
I took two pairs for ground and one pair per channel and soldered on neutrik 6.3mm phone-plug.
The ends of each pairs i have soldered.
I took so much solder, that these ends are approx. so thick as the pins on the plugs of the HD 600-cable.
Now i can can plug the ends in my hd 600.
OK, it is only a test. They sit not very good and i must my head move very slow.
And the contact is not good too, i think.
But, the sound difference is there !
Opener than the stock cable. The bass is more control.
Now i am looking for a good way to connect the cable.
If i remove the ear-pad i can't see where the plug is going in.
What i have to to ? |
It's sounds like you're doing a damn fine job of completely cocking the phones up. The ear cups, an everything else on the HD600's, are a snap lock fit and it is easy to strip them down to the bare bones.
Use your finger nail at the plastic to plastic abutments and gently prise the phones apart. It's pretty self explanatory just by looking at the phones but very hard to explain here.
Basically you need to prise everything apart and you will do no damage to the headphones. Once you have them in say 3 pieces you can begin work on connecting the cables.
Pinkie.
If you can wait a few hours I will prise mine apart and take photos which will explain things better.
