hey krayzie, nice pics, thanks! i think i'll set up my own photo album today since i'm pretty much stuck indoors with at least a foot of snow in the backyard. i love how news channels make up names for these kind of things, like "THE BLIZZARD OF 2003!!!"

let's talk retro portable stuff today! i've nothing to do and i've got cabin fever!

cheers.

Hey Bong...

Yeah I watched the news at noon, it doesn't look that bad, at least the streets looked plowed unlike here in Toronto at times of snowstorms...

Yeah I'm finally starting to listen to the FAN cd alot more now, love that BOOM BOOM Hooky bass hehe I figured mounting the "RETRO" boxset kinda fits in with the theme of my old machines...

Damn Bong, I can't wait for your pics... you don't mind taking some pics of how your machine's inside tape compartment looks like rite? Just curious about the AIWA machines... Thanks man!

How would you use it, I mean for DSL and BBE in conjunction...

Purk
I think the D99 with the 60mm bass duct. If I remember correctly it had two silver colored ducts that were kind of long, and of equal length. They might still be around in some box either in storage or my parent's house for all I know.

How you enjoying those CD3Ks Purk? Are they everything you thought they would be?

hey krayzie and everyone, i started a yahoo photo album with pics of some of my stuff. take a look and lemme know what you think

http://photos.yahoo.com/bong801
just click on "toys"

there's also a few photos of today's blizzard...
krayzie, isn't Hooky great? i wish i could play like him...
oh, and when i use my JX707, i like the BBE setting on 1, and DSL on. one thing that's great about the KX707's DSL is that it constantly monitors the bass response and adjusts accordingly. the result is always natural sounding bass response, never too little, never too much.

cheers.

Wow that's like knee deep snow, crazy stuff!!!

Hey that's wicked about DSL being a continuously adjusted bass response, just like the system on the D-777 I guess... And you know the Aiwa machines, they just look awesome and very sturdy built... And all your machines look so minty, nice pictures guy!!!

Hey is that purple box the Joy Division boxset?!?! For some reason I'm never into Joy Division stuff but I do recognize how Ian Curtis looks like...

Hey krayzie, did you get your PX1000 and E484 yet?
yeah, all high end Aiwa machines i've owned or experienced were built like bricks. they just feel like high quality products. and i try to keep all my portables as mint as possible. i OBSESS over them! i freak out when or if i see a scratch. i can't stand it when i see people on the train bang around their portables like its indestructible.

anyways... yup, that's the Joy Division box set next to the New Order's, i thought they compliment each other. JD's great, i love gloomy post-punk stuff.

hey, thanks about the pics. i think i'll start scanning my old Sony and Aiwa brochures for some more pics of retro stuff. i think the HP-V88 is in one of them...

cheers.

Hi Everyone

I have just posted a pair of V99's on ebay with plenty of pix to view.

They're in mint condition and still deliver awesome sound.
