I have had nothing but impecable service from Livewires.

I have spoken with Andrew, Martha and John (and one other, sorry I forget the name) and have always had my questions answered, and they seem genuinely interested in accomodating my needs. Service has been prompt, with fast turn around on a refit and remake - the result was WELL WORTH THE WAIT.

They do however do most of their business over the phone, not by email, and so if I email them and don't get a fast enough reply, I call them on the phone. After speaking with them, we all know that they don't have to answer the email if they already answered the question by phone.

I recognize the frustration of having the product incorrectly shipped in a way that can't be tracked, or having a big time difference making phone calls difficult. But your constant pestering them with requests for them to track a package that you KNOW is untrackable would get on ANYONE'S nerves.

You were told how and when they shipped, and shipping was confirmed but can't be tracked past the USA - and on head-fi you have acknowledged that a previous eBay transaction took three months to arrive. Yet, you sound like you expected them to jump on a plane and hunt down the package.

This is not a life-saving medical device we're talking about. If I had been in your situation, I would have asked only for (1) a refund of the difference in shipping and (2) a promise that if they don't show up in the three months (like previous experience) that they would refund you the whole amount. Then I would have sat back and waited, and not made my family check the mailbox every day! I'd bet that if you had politely done that, they might have refunded more than just the difference in shipping, while wishing you to keep the earphones upon arrival. And, I would hope that if the Livewires do arrive some day, that you try them and use them, and send the money back to TTVJ or whomever if you like them.

I will not hesitate to give John and Livewires more of my money in the future. I actually have another new custom order that just went to them today.

KWS - I see where part of the problem came from the language barrier. Your emails to Livewires on 8/23 and 8/31 both looked acusitory, antagonistic and threatening in my opinion.

8/23 "doubt you shipped", "will complain to USPS"

8/31 "power to prosecute the dealer because of dishonest trading"

In the old west, they would say "Them's fightin' words..."

I know, that wasn't proper english, but it's how the cowboys would say it. And your "fighting words" in those emails would stir up upset feelings in ANYONE reading them. I certainly expect police officers and soldiers carrying guns to ignore fightin' words, because they are trained to, but those words don't sit to well with normal everyday folks who are just trying to do their job.

PS: I used to be from Texas if that helps my explainations.

A good company, a good IEM

Deal with this company. They communciate well but can take some time to get back to you. My impression is that Livewires have a small dedicated team that produce quality gear but struggles at times to keep up with customer demand. Patience and persistence is the key - provided you are cordial and considerate.

Try this IEM. It's well worth the effort of getting ear impressions. There are many finish options. The cables are the best on the market for microphonics (which I consider a critical factor when you're moving around whilst listening). And you even get a 30 Day return policy! I mean how good is all that for the price?

For me, although it has primarilly been about getting a good SQ for the price, I have to add that it has truly been a pleasure dealing with a trustworthy and trusting group of individuals who are producing a high quality product. This Member Of The Trade is human (we've all read his regrets about the way he initially worded his dealings with the disgruntled overseas customer) but I appreciate his forthrightness, honesty and consideration of the needs of individual customers such as myself. All thumbs up here. Thanks John Diles and Livewires. I love my T1s!

Earpeace has been good to me also, not at all like the experience the OP has had.
Unfortunately I had to send them back for remake twice for a refit and another problem, but they remade them and sent them back both times at no cost.

Overally the experience took quite a while, but with international shipping involved this is understandable.
I think that their after-sale service is just excellent, and the product in question is great also.

I just received my own livewires and wanted to say that my experience in getting them was nothing but very positive. My whole transaction was handled through John's brother, Bill, who has an audiologist office right near my house. I had my impressions done there and picked them up there, with no charge for impressions and a very minimal shipping charge (considering I had them rushed). Couldn't ask for better customer service!
