What Did My Center Channel Just Do??

I was watching a DVD, playing around with some of the 5.1 options on my Yamaha HTR-5540, when all of a sudden I realized I had nothing coming out of the center channel -- people speaking with no sound coming out of their mouths is a bad thing! Trying to switch back to regular DD did nothing to help. Then, a few seconds later, I hit the "Jazz Club" DSP out of desperation, and lo and behold my center channel was back. From that point on, the center channel performed flawlessly on all my DSP settings, and after replaying that section of the DVD I failed to duplicate the problem.

I figure this must be either:
1. A burp in my DVD player (or even a slightly glitchy disc);
2. A momentary cut-out in my Yamaha's signal processor;
3. I hit some stupid sequence of DSP buttons that caused the Yamaha to get confused; or
4. A total fluke.

What do you think is most likely?

The Yamaha is brand-new, and I still have 3 weeks to return it.

try to repeat what you did to see if you can initiate it again and observe what settings you put it in?
if it is new - i dont see why it would do this unless there is a problem with the unit.

try to make the call if this receiver is right for you - if not - return it and get a better one.

also check all connections for loose ones - esp the center channel hook ups.

Well, since it's quick and painless to swap it out at Fry's for another of the same unit, I'll just go ahead and do that to eliminate product defect as a cause. I do really like the Yamaha.

I'll bet it's a glitch on the DVD. We'll find out soon enough!
