133x card does not support Fixed disk.
Only the industrial version compact flash series from Transcend support fixed disk. However, I tried both industrial series and cannot get it work with B9.

Transcend support said me that TS32GCF133 should support "Fixed disk" mode, and that no flashing is needed, it should switch between this modes based on the device it is used in. As i understand, flash card reader/digital cameras/etc are connecting some two pins on CF and CF->ATA adapters are not (or maybe on the contrary?)
However, CF worked as removable disk with both CF->ATA adapters i used

This would be great to make a list of CFs that are proven to work as a fixed disk First in the list must be your SanDisk Ultra II 8GB

I wish but Ultra II only up to 8GB.

Dear Customer,

First of all, many thanks for your letter.

Yes, in true IDE interface, the default setting of TS32GCF133 is fixed disk mode.
And in PCMCIA interface, the default setting of TS32GCF133 is removable disk mode.

If you have any question, please feel free to let us know.
We'll be eager to service you to the best of our ability.

so going by this, does it mean that the transcend should work? Not good with all this technical stuff. lol

Hmm. That's a shame. I'll hold off until something that works comes out then...

Kinda off topic but this is what I've been working on all week. My hd30gb9 is with Kenwood getting a new battery so I don't know if it fits...hope so though. I just made measurements before I mailed it over...

Woot! Got westone 3s! Was the hiss with the UM2s really bad? If so, then the Westone 3s are probably the same, but maybe the included attenuator will help....
